Description

The Orbitrap Astral (Thermo Fisher Scientific) is a next-generation instrument offering exceptional sensitivity, accuracy, and acquisition speed

When coupled with a Vanquish Neo (Thermo Fisher Scientific),it enables efficient separation with excellent reproducibility and high sample throughput. The integration of a FAIMS source adds an ion mobility dimension, reducing interferences and further enhancing sensitivity and dynamic range.

This integrated system allows for high-throughput and highly robust analyses, even for complex projects, including low-quantity analyses and single-cell proteomics.

Commissioned in April 2026.

Applications

• Large-scale identification and quantification of thousands of proteins
• Analysis of very low quantities with enhanced sensitivity (single-cell proteomics)
• Study of post-translational modifications (phosphorylation, acetylation, ubiquitination)
