Exploris 480 Mass Spectrometer
Description
The Exploris 480 mass spectrometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific) features the latest generation Orbitrap, combining high resolution, fast acquisition, and exceptional stability, providing measurement accuracy of 1–3 ppm over several days of acquisition without recalibration.
The system can be equipped with a new asymmetric field ion mobility interface (FAIMS Pro™), which significantly reduces interferences, improves selectivity, and enhances sensitivity. Quantitative data accuracy using TMT technology is further improved with the FAIMS interface.
The Exploris 480 is coupled to a nano-Ultra High Performance LC system (NanoLC RSLC U3000, Thermo Fisher Scientific), specifically designed for nanoscale applications.
Commissioned in October 2021.
Applications
- Large-scale protein quantification using label-free approaches or isobaric tags such as Tandem Mass Tag (TMT) technology
- Targeted quantification (PRM)
