Implementation of the PPM Platform’s R&D Program

R&D : General information

Active Technology Monitoring

The PPM implements new technologies and methodologies (equipment, software, etc.) tailored to user needs by actively monitoring technological advances through literature surveys, conference participation, and other initiatives.

The PPM responds actively to regional and national calls for projects, as part of a dynamic of innovation and technological development.

You can discover all projects, current and past, led by the PPM under the various funding programmes.

Since 2021, the BioCampus Montpellier unit has offered a simple and rapid project call for researchers wishing a platform to develop tools tailored to their research. Tools developed within this R&D framework are subsequently made available to the wider community.

The PPM has led several award-winning projects in collaboration with Montpellier-based research teams:

  • PHOSPHOTO Project – Funded in 2023
The team of Gilles Freiss (IRCM, Tumor Invasion Signaling) and the PPM (FPP site) are developing a robust method for the simultaneous and comprehensive analysis of global proteomes and phosphoproteomes from limited sample quantities. This protocol is highly valuable for clinical studies in oncology as well as for any team aiming to characterize signaling pathways.
  • PRISMAPOL Project – Funded in 2022
The team of Etienne Schwob (IGMM, Replication and Genome Instability) and the PPM (FPP site) are investigating the feasibility of a protein interaction screening using a matrix of peptides immobilized on a membrane, including study of interaction modulation by post-translational modifications.
  • PEPIRON Project – Funded in 2021
The FeROS team of Christian Dubos (B&PMP, Mineral Nutrition and Oxidative Stress) and the PPM (MSPP site) have implemented a large-scale peptidomics approach for label-free identification and quantification of peptides in phloem sap, providing insights into iron homeostasis.

The PPM, through the FPP and PPC sites, is involved in two “Regional Research and Innovation Platforms” projects co-funded by the Occitanie region, the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), and private companies (ABIVAX Montpellier, AMABIOTICS Paris).

  • Projet H3RD2 (PRRI)
  • Projet IHU (Immun4Cure)

Customized and Project-Specific Research

If your project requires significant adaptations beyond our standard services or specific method development, a dedicated R&D project can be established.

Please contact the PPM management team with a brief description of your request.
